General Rules- Booking in will be from 7.00pm to 7.30pm. Treasure (or another Committee member) will book drivers in by Name or Club Number. Racing will start around 7.45pm. Note:
Heats will be run on a grading system based on the highest number of laps achieved by each driver at previous meetings. Driver’s grading will be reviewed on a monthly basis. (Gradings can go down as well as up)!!
Once the heats have been sorted a list will be put up in the pits. Drivers to check their heat number, car number, allocated crystal and colour of transponder. - All drivers to help set up and pack away the track. Drivers to pay £3.50 race fee and a £1.00 deposit at time of booking in. The deposit will only be returned to drivers helping to put away the equipment.
- All rubbish to be put in the bins provided.
- Friends are welcome as long as they keep off the track and are well behaved.
- No bad language or fooling about.
- All 12 volt batteries must be in a plastic container.
- Only BRCA legal motors and standard 6 cell 7.2 volt batteries are allowed.
- Only cars with bodies on will be allowed to race & should not have any jagged edges.
- Tyre additives are allowed except for 'Tracktight' or 'Wintergreen' based additives.
Transponders- The club uses two sets of AMB transponders (Orange and Yellow) for timing each race.
- Transponders can be collected after the start of the race before yours. Don’t collect them before or it is impossible to see if they have all been returned.
- If a transponder is not available tell a committee member.
- After each race, replace the transponder back into the rack before going out to marshal (unless told otherwise).
- Please make sure that you have not got a transponder attached to your car when you pack up to go home. (You will be asked to bring it straight back).
- Please handle transponders with care as they cost approx. £40.00 each to replace
Drivers Guidelines- Drivers must be members of the BRCA if they have attended more than three race meetings.
- Pay Race Fees and book in at the start of the meeting.
- Drivers must ensure that their cars have the correct numbers on (one on the front windscreen).
- No practising is allowed. Cars must go straight to the start line.
- Drivers must be on the stand to race before the starting signal is given. Duration between races is set by the BBK System and will normally be 2 minutes.
- Keep transmitter aerials held up to avoid injury to other drivers and marshals and maximise signal.
- No bad language on rostrum.
- Let fast drivers pass and follow the lines of course (no lane jumping).
- Drivers driving erratically may be removed from the race at the Race Directors discretion permanently or for a 10 second penalty. (Driving erratically includes cutting corners and deliberately hitting other cars).
- When car is being marshalled do not rev the motor.
- No drivers to marshal their own cars (stay on rostrum till end of race)
- On completion of the race drivers should retrieve their cars as quickly as possible and turn their transmitters off allowing the next heats drivers to set up their cars. Cars should be returned to the pit area, car battery disconnected and transponder returned to the rack before going to the marshalling post.
- Drivers are expected to marshal the race following their own.
- Drivers are not allowed to cross the track whilst a race is in progress unless they are marshalling.
- Drivers to have a minimum of 2 choices of crystals (ideally three).
- If you need advice on setting up your car or our having problems then ask one of the committee to help you.
Marshals Guide Lines- All drivers must marshal the race after there own and be out before the 30 second signal (three beeps). Any car repairs to be done after the marshalled race.
- Drivers must marshal even if they are unable to continue racing for whatever reason.
- Marshals should marshal from the post with the same number as their car.
- Any driver failing to marshal will not be allowed to start the next race.
- Marshals shall take care when attending to a racecar and should not step out in front of an approaching car.
- Marshals should not run or jump onto the course in case they accidentally land on top of a racecar or rough up the carpet.
- Look around first before putting a car down and do not put a car down in front of an approaching car.
- Any broken or 'dumped' cars to be taken off the track.
- Take care not to touch the hot parts on a car when handling it (i.e. motor).
- Do not mend cars in the middle of the track. Only immediate repairs to be done by marshals.
- Marshals must pay attention to the race whilst marshalling and not stand around talking.
DRIVERS BRIEFING- Like most motor sports model car racing can be dangerous.
- A fast moving car can hurt you if it hits you.
- Parts of the car (motor & battery) get very hot.
- Cars has moving parts which if unprotected can be dangerous.
- You have all had copies of the clubs rules.
Just go through major ones again.- All drivers to help set up and pack away the track.
- No bad language or fooling about (young members present).
- Please handle transponders with care as they cost approx. £100.00 each to replace
- When it is your turn to race turn on your transmitter before turning on the car. After the race repeat in the reverse order. Car off before transmitter.
- When extending the transmitter aerial grip it at the point near the transmitter not at the end.
Whilst driving:
- Keep transmitter aerials held up to avoid injury to other drivers and marshals and maximise signal.
- Let fast drivers pass and follow the lines of course (no lane jumping).
- When car is being marshalled do not rev the motor.
- No drivers to marshal their own cars (stay on rostrum till end of race)
